SONGSTER MEMBERS MEETING – February 19, 2026 President Paul Meiners called the meeting to order at 12:35 pm in the Auditorium prior to rehearsal. The Secretary’s minutes from the last meeting on November 20, 2025, were read and approved. The Treasurer’s report was presented and approved. 400 tickets at $20 each were sold for the January 31, 2026, fundraising concert featuring Mark Lucas and the Rhythm Cats. 355 people were actually in attendance. A profit of $6,000 was realized. Currently the Club is in a very solid financial position. The current checking account balance was not disclosed. Expected expenses for the 2026 Spring Concert will fall between $6,000 to $8,000. COMMITTEE REPORTS -Spring Concert Ticket Committee - Report provided by Sandy Weins. Tickets are printed and ready to be distributed to members for sale. Sign-up sheets for ticket sales on Wednesday’s and Fridays in Rooms 3 and 4 and the Spring Craft Show on March 7th will be passed around today’s meeting. -Social Committee - Wendy Hammrich reported the Spring event will be on either March 27 or March 28. It will be held at either the Silver Star in Mesa or Barleen’s in Apache Junction. The members decided either day and location is acceptable. Wendy will make final preparations and report back. -Wardrobe Committee - Cindy Daniels indicated no decisions have been made yet but did note the men will not be required to wear jackets. OTHER BUSINESS -Future fundraisers will be held. Mark Lucus and the Rhythm Cats have offered to perform again for us. Paul Meiners will work with the HOA Board to obtain a date. -It was proposed by Don Cook that the Club purchase additional steps for the risers used in our concerts. After discussions were completed, Cheri Goforth motioned to purchase steps at an estimated cost of $200. Sandra Bakken seconded the motion, and the motion was approved. -Director Jung Lee previously requested the Songsters Board approve hiring additional musicians for the Spring Concert. Included are a saxophone player, drummer and 3 vocalists. The Songster Board discussed and approved this request on February 9, 2026. -New contracts are being presented to the Director and the piano accompianist for the 2026 concerts.
